My new Zealand Journey

In term 4 Te waka ako made a slideshow called My New Zealand Journey, in this experience you see what it is like as an adult. You can stay in Deluxe hotels or Campervans. Each day you are given a budget of $500 for your activities and hotel stays. You also have to rent a car for 11 days. you land in dunedin and drive Invercargill. From there you have to find your way all the way up to cape reinga. This was a challenging but fun experience and there was an even more exciting place called Mr Ross's farm. Some of the activities were from Moana pools To extreme go karting to Bungy jumping One thing that I learned was how to travel As if I was an adult. One thing the teachers didn't plan was how we got our drivers licence.

Please comment if You wish and tell me how I planned my trip.

Camp

On Tuesday We went to camp. Well Its not much of a camp and more like a Holiday. We went to Mt Ruapehu And arrived at 6:15 Pm And got ready for dinner. The day after that we went skiing For 2 days, I picked snowboarding for the two days. Getting up was the hardest because when you tried to the snow boardslides down. The best part about snow boarding was you can pick up the sport very easy and it is super fun. Overall I really liked camp except for my lips being sun burnt. Here is a slide on pretty much everything i've done.

Taekwondo

Since the start of Term Three Waikowhai Primary School have been taking lessons for Taekwondo. Our Instructor was quite strict because you can't really get anywhere with people going easy on you. She taught our class different varieties of kicking, punching, fitness and self defense. It's a very hard but fun experience and also if your class gets over 10 seconds to get ready, you get a punishment so if you get 11 seconds then you get one punishment, 12 seconds two punishments and so on.

What I liked is that Taekwondo is very much like Karate.

Tent Creations

Yesterday for Maths in Te Waka Ako we used both science and precision to make tents.

The reason we had to do this task was on a math problem book there were people on an island and they got to choose how they built a tent. Some of the builders chose different shapes and some fell down but some stayed put.

For the materials we used tooth picks and modeling clay (plasticine). There were a lot of problems, like having to pinpoint the exact location to put both the toothpicks and plasticine.

What was fun is that we got to choose which way we built the tent. I chose a lot of different shapes including an L shape, A cube shape and finally the pyramid shape. All of the shapes fell down but the pyramid shape was the strongest.

Overall the project is both fun and challenging at the same time.

also I was wondering why the pyramid shape was so strong and I found a website that said why it is so strong. This is the website link.
